Course Overview

Electrical and Electronics Engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. The charge of EEE Department is to facilitate young Engineers with an associate degree with the space of professional skills necessary to accumulate technical exposure within the areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, to face the challenges of the longer term and modify them to search out innovative applications of Technology and nurture career improvement and develop human, social and intellectual qualities necessary for the success of the profession and also to reach the goal of Electrical Power for the development of our Country.

Course Breakup

    I Year :

  • Students learn the basics of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science applicable to Engineering and their corresponding Laboratory experiments.

    II Year :

  • Here the main focus is on Electronic Devices and Circuits, Digital Logic Circuits, Linear Integrated Circuits, Electromagnetic Theory, Electrical Machines-I, Control Systems, Measurements and Instrumentation and corresponding core laboratory experiments.

    III Year :

  • Here the focus is on subjects like Power Electronics, Electrical Machines-II, Transmission and Distribution, Digital Signal Processing, Communication engineering, Object Oriented Programming, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, Machine Design, Power System Analysis, Solid State Drives And Professional Ethics and their corresponding core laboratory experiments.

    IV Year :

  • Students will be focused on Power system Operation and Control, Protection and Switch Gear, Special Electrical Machines, Electric Power Utilization and Energy Auditing and Few Elective subjects with one main project.

Students have got enormous in placement opportunities in field of power and energy sector, renewable energy sources brings out ample of opportunities in mere future, the EEE students expose their skills in IT sector too.

    The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of RVSCET Coimbatore, strives

PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)

    After successful completion of the degree, the students will be able to:

  • Apply the fundamentals of mathematics, science and engineering knowledge to identify, formulate, design and investigate complex engineering problems of electric circuits, analog and digital electronics circuits, control systems, electrical machines and Power system.
  • Apply the appropriate techniques and modern engineering hardware and software tools in electrical engineering to engage in life-long learning and to successfully adapt in multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Aware of the impact of professional engineering solutions in societal, environmental context, professional ethics and be able to communicate effectively.

Laboratory

The UG Department has well equipped laboratories used for practical classes and demonstration sessions. Adequate computer facilities with Internet access are available to both staff and students in the department. The following laboratories are managed by the Department:

Electrical and Electronic Engineering is a rapidly developing field of study incorporating many different subject areas, such as Digital Signal Processing, Mobile Communications, Computer Networks, Power Systems, Power Electronics, Instrumentation, Microprocessors and Control Systems, just to name a few.

PG Department has well equipped “EMBEDDED SYSTEM LABORATORY “used for practical classes and demonstration sessions. Adequate computer facilities with Internet access are available to both staff and students in the department.

Texas Instruments sponsored laboratory has been established in the campus at a cost of 1 lakh 33 thousand rupees which is equipped with advanced digital controllers like MSP430, ARM Cortex-Tiva, ASLX analog kit with latest programming and simulating software like Code composer studio and VISIM respectively. This software is loaded on 12 dedicated computers. These equipment’s are utilized in the field of distributed data signal acquisition, Signal processing, Image processing, Control mixed signal controllers, PWM Generation and control, power converter control etc.
