Dr. R. Parthiban, M. Tech., Ph. D
Specialization is Chemical Engineering Plant Design and Environmental Technology
Dr. R. Parthiban brings over 33 years of extensive teaching, research, and industrial experience to his role as Controller of Examinations at RVS College of Engineering and Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Technology from Anna University, an M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering Plant Design from NIT Tiruchirappalli, a B.Tech. from Coimbatore Institute of Technology, and also a MBA in Human Resources Management from the University of Madras.
Dr. R Parthiban has a robust background in academic leadership and examination management. He has previously held prominent administrative positions, including Principal and Vice Principal at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Sriperiumbudur and served for 20 years in various capacities. Also he was heading the Chemical Engineering department for 6 years in SSN College of Engineering and worked there for 10 years. Additionally, complementing his responsibilities as COE, he has hands-on experience serving as Chief Superintendent for Anna University Examinations and as a Camp Officer for Central Valuation. His deep expertise in steering institutions through rigorous NBA and NAAC accreditation cycles also aligns perfectly with our ongoing quality assurance and compliance initiatives.
Beyond his administrative capabilities, Dr.R Parthiban is a distinguished academician. He has published 65 research papers in international journals and maintains an H-index of 15. He has published around 7 books and 12 book chapters. He has received a grant of around Rs 33 lakhs for around 5 projects in AICTE RPS, AICTE – MODROBS etc. He was also the Technical Expert Committee Member for Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board towards Soil & Waste remediation measures of the contaminated site of M/s Tamilnadu Chemicals and Chromates Ltd, Ranipet during 2021.He received the CTS Best Teacher Award during 2014 in Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Sirperumbudur.
He has successfully guided numerous Ph.D. scholars and actively contributes to the wider academic community through leadership roles, such as serving as the Vice President of the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, Kolkata. He was a Life Member in many Professional Societies, viz., Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, The Institution of Engineers, Indian Institute of Plant Engineers etc. He was also the Chairman of IIChE – Chennai Reginal Centre during 2021-23 and as an Executive Committee Member from 2005 onwards.
He was also a Evaluation Commission Member for International Accreditation Organization, Houston, USA and evaluated many institutions viz., Karunya University, Coimbatore, Coimbatore Institute of Technology etc.
