Overview
The Department of Bio Medical Engineering is offering a full-time four-year B.E. degree course from 2024. Biomedical engineering (BME) involves applying engineering principles to address biological and medical challenges in order to enhance healthcare. Biomedical engineering (BME) is commonly associated with the logical sciences aiming to improve healthcare practices such as diagnosis, monitoring, and therapy. Biomedical engineers also oversee the maintenance of medical equipment in hospitals, ensuring compliance with industry standards. This includes purchasing, regular testing, proactive maintenance, and suggesting equipment leads to various roles. These roles involve designing medical devices, developing biomaterials, maintaining medical equipment, operating imaging systems, and conducting cutting-edge research to propel healthcare technology forward. The program’s objective is to provide students with the tools needed to create new technologies for life-saving equipment, biomedical instruments for treatment and diagnosis, physiological parameter monitoring through sensors, biomechanics, biomedical imaging, medical devices, cell and tissue engineering, and various other medical applications.
