Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in 2007.The department is dedicated to nurturing Engineers and Researchers through immersive research activities. Our mission is to advance fundamental knowledge in computational processes, design innovative computing systems, and create impactful applications that benefit the society.

PO1-Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering
fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO2-Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering services.
PO3-Design / Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

Dr. K. Karuppasamy, M.E., Ph.D.
Professor & Head Department of Computer Science and Engineering
Dr. K. Karuppasamy is a distinguished academician with over 23 years of teaching experience in Computer Science and Engineering. He serves as the Vice Principal and Head of the CSE Department at RVS College of Engineering and Technology. A recognized research supervisor at Anna University, he has successfully guided 7 Ph.D. scholars and is currently mentoring 8 more.
With a strong research background, Dr. Karuppasamy has published over 43 research papers in reputed journals, including 15 indexed in SCI, and presented extensively at international conferences. His expertise spans wireless sensor networks, mobile computing, and network security.
A recipient of multiple accolades, including the Best Teaching Award from Staffordshire University, UK, he has demonstrated excellence in academic leadership, research, and curriculum development. He is also actively involved in organizing conferences, faculty development programs, and industry collaborations.

His technical proficiency covers various programming languages, databases, and frameworks, making him a well-rounded educator and researcher committed to innovation in engineering education.

Computer Laboratory - I
Computer Laboratory – I, it consists of state of art infrastructure with i5 and i7 configuration computing equipment supported by high speed internet connectivity and wireless networks round the clock. This lab is equipped with a wide variety of proprietary and open source software for experimenting real world concepts in networking and Database. The software includes NS2, Oracle, Netbeans, Packet Tracer, NetStumbler, etc., with the help of which the students can build their own Concepts and Real Time Projects.
Computer Laboratory - II
Computer Laboratory – II, it consists of well infrastructure with i5 configuration computing equipment supported by high speed internet connectivity and wireless networks. This lab is equipped with a wide variety of proprietary and open source software for experimenting real world concepts in object oriented programming concepts and data science. The software includes ArgoUML, Netbeans, Python, Anaconda, etc., with the help of which the students can explore our project nowledge, know how data communication takes place in real world and so on.
Browsing Laboratory
Browsing Laboratory, it consists of good infrastructure with high configuration computing equipment supported by high speed internet connectivity and wireless networks. This lab is equipped with a wide variety of proprietary and open source software for experimenting real world concepts in data structures and algorithms, structure programming concepts. The software includes Python, Turbo C/C++, Code Blocks, Visual Studio etc., with the help of which the students can explore programming knowledge.
Research and Development Laboratory
Research laboratory caters the platform for investigation of complex problems, analysis and observations and results. This lab with high end configuration computer systems and research oriented software platforms provides the base of publications, research and consultancy works. The software includes Python, Android Studio, R tool, Rational Rose, Hadoop, NS2, MatLab, Code Blocks, Visual Studio, Oracle, VM Ware etc.
