Overview
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering offers a strong foundation in electronic circuits, communication systems, embedded systems, VLSI, signal processing and emerging areas like IoT and AI‑enabled systems. Established in 2007, the department offers a four‑year B.E. Supported by well‑equipped laboratories and experienced faculty members. The curriculum is aligned with industry and university norms, emphasizing hands‑on learning, mini‑projects and industry interaction to prepare students for careers in core electronics, IT, networking, semiconductor, and research organizations. The department regularly organizes workshops, seminars, value‑added courses and technical events to enhance student competencies, promote innovation, and encourage higher studies and entrepreneurship

Head of the Department
Dr. B.Suganthi
M.E., Ph.D., Associate Professor & Head
Dr.B.Suganthi is presently working as an Associate professor and Head in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at RVS College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, India. She is having 28 years of teaching experience in various reputed institutes. She received BE degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Madras University, Tamilnadu in 1995. And received ME degree in Applied Electronics from Anna University ,Chennai, Tamilnadu in 2005.She has Completed her Ph.D from Anna University, Chennai in 2021. She has completed multiple numbers of MOOCs in latest technologies. She has published around 15 papers in international journals and conferences. She has attended various FDPs in cutting edge technologies. Her area of research include Ad hoc Network, Wireless sensor networks, IOT and Embedded Systems.

The Program Educational Objectives of the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) program describe major accomplishments as follows
PEO1:Become good professional in Electronics and Communication Engineering associated industries, higher education and research.
PEO2: Develop attitude in lifelong learning, applying and adapting new ideas and technologies as their field evolves.
PEO3: Solve the problems to address the industry and society needs
PO1. Engineering knowledge:
Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO2. Problem analysis:
Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO3. Design/development of solutions:
Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO4. Conduct investigations of complex problems:
Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
PO5. Modern tool usage:
Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
PO6. The engineer and society:
Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
PO7. Environment and sustainability:
Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

To Sustain the level,
Action 1: Students are motivated to organize the team activities like Group Quiz, Social/Technical Quiz etc.
Action 2: Students will be encouraged to participate in events like seminar, workshop, projects, hands-on training etc. organized by Professional body activities to improve their interpersonal skills.
Action 3: Students will be encouraged to participate in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in other colleges/sports activities/cultural activities.
10. Communication:
Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
11. Project management and finance:
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
