The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) is an autonomous body in India
established to ensure quality assurance and continuous improvement in
technical education. Originally constituted in 1994 by the All India
Council for Technical Education (AICTE), NBA attained autonomous status
in 2010 and currently functions under the Ministry of Education,
Government of India.
NBA is responsible for evaluating and accrediting individual academic
programs in disciplines such as engineering, technology, management,
pharmacy, architecture, and allied fields. The accreditation process
focuses on outcome-based education, assessing programs on parameters
including curriculum design, faculty competence, infrastructure,
teaching–learning processes, and student performance.
