Mathematics is the unshaken foundation of Sciences, and the plentiful fountain of advantage to human affairs. By using mathematics, any complex ideas can be logically expressed by equations and formulae. Engineering is the practical application of science and mathematics to solve problems.
The department has highly qualified and motivated faculty members. Their area of specialization includes Operations Research, Reliability and Graph Theory etc. The department offers it services to under graduate and post graduate engineering students to learn mathematics and applications appropriate to their field of study. The primary goal of the department is to provide knowledge of applied mathematics that will serve as a foundation for careers and further study in engineering
Semester I
Students study Differential Calculus, Functions of several variables and Multiple Integrals to apply in engineering applications.
Semester II
Students acquire the knowledge of Matrices, vector calculus, Complex Integration and Laplace Transform techniques to apply the engineering problems in their area.
Semester III
This semester focuses on improving their knowledge in Linear Algebra, Fourier series analysis, Fourier transform & Z-transform techniques and partial differential equations used in wide variety of situations.
Semester IV
Probability, Statistics, Numerical methods, Queuing theory and Random process are taught from which the students can solve different kinds of problems occurring in engineering and technology.
Semester V
In this semester, students are enabled to extend Groups and Rings, Finite fields, Canonical decompositions and Multiplicative functions to introduce most of the basic terminologies used in computer science and application of ideas to solve practical problems.
Semester I
M.E Thermal engineering - Students can improve their knowledge in numerical methods that will come in handy to solve numerically the problems that arise in engineering and technology.
M.E. Embedded System Technologies and Electrical Drives and Embedded Control - The concepts of Matrix theory, linear programming, calculus of variations and Fourier transforms are taught to the students to apply in their area.
M.E. Communication Systems - Students understand the idea of algebraic equations, special functions and solve problems associated with engineering applications.
M.E. Computer Science and Engineering - Students learn the sound knowledge of one dimensional and two dimensional random variables, Estimation theory, Correlation, Regression and Testing of hypothesis to solve mathematical problems which will be useful in solving engineering problems.
